ABSTRACT
Sexual minority women (SMW) face elevated trauma and PTSD rates compared to heterosexual peers. This study tested whether specific dimensions of heterosexism contribute to PTSD severity among 514 trauma-exposed SMW (ages 18-25). Self-reported heterosexism was positively associated with PTSD symptoms (β = .33, p < .115). Findings highlight the central role of isolation in PTSD among SMW, underscoring the importance of targeted, affirming mental health care.
