ABSTRACT
Clozapine remains the most effective treatment for treatment-resistant schizophrenia (TRS), yet clinicians are frequently faced with situations where discontinuation must be considered due to adverse effects, patient preference, or lack of effectiveness. This article proposes an eight-step, clinically informed approach to guide the safe planning, implementation, and monitoring of clozapine discontinuation.
