- Expanded nursing role: screening with validated scales (PHQ-9, GAD-7), brief psychotherapeutic interventions and coordination of care for patients with mental disorders.
- Strongest evidence in Collaborative Care and measurement based care models; effectiveness requires systematic training, regular clinical supervision and organisational support.
- Implementation barriers include limited funding, incompatible information systems, insufficient training; adapt foreign models to Russian health care by validating tools and defining nurse competencies.

ABSTRACT
The article presents an analysis of modern foreign studies on the role of primary health care nurses in identifying, managing and coordinating care for patients with mental disorders. It has been shown that the expansion of nursing functions includes screening using validated scales (PHQ-9, GAD-7), performing short-term psychotherapeutic interventions (elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral activation), monitoring the condition of patients with chronic mental illnesses and coordinating interaction with psychiatrists. The largest evidence base has been accumulated within the framework of the Collaborative Care Model and measurement based care models. It has been established that the effectiveness of nursing interventions directly depends on the availability of systematic training, regular clinical guidance (in the Western tradition, supervision) and organizational support. The main barriers to implementation are noted: lack of funding, incompatibility of information systems, insufficient training of personnel. Special attention is paid to the adaptation of foreign approaches to the conditions of the Russian healthcare system, including the need to validate screening tools and develop standards of competence for nurses. Practical recommendations for primary health care are formulated.
