ABSTRACT
Black women present with distinct mental health concerns that necessitate culturally responsive therapeutic intervention. The authors put forth therapeutic sistah circles as a culturally responsive group intervention for enhancing Black women’s mental health. Drawing on theories and research from Black feminism, group psychotherapy, and Black feminist communication studies, the authors describe the distinguishing features of a therapeutic sistah circle and offer recommendations for facilitation across counseling contexts.
