ABSTRACT
The shared features of compulsivity in eating disorders (EDs) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) may reflect common molecular pathogenic processes. In a recent study, Breen et al. used postmortem human brain tissue to investigate fronto-striatal transcriptomic alterations in ED and OCD, identifying systems-level molecular convergence centered on neuronal energetics and synaptic signaling.
